President Donald J. Trump has revoked the security clearances of his predecessor, Joe Biden, citing his past mishandling of classified documents and failing mind. “There is no need for Joe Biden to continue receiving access to classified information. Therefore, we are immediately revoking Joe Biden’s Security Clearances, and stopping his daily Intelligence Briefings,” the America First leader announced on his Truth Social platform.
“He set this precedent in 2021, when he instructed the Intelligence Community (IC) to stop the 45th President of the United States (ME!) from accessing details on National Security, a courtesy provided to former Presidents,” Trump explained.
He also referenced the Hur Report on Biden’s mishandling of classified documents after his vice presidency. He recalled that the report “revealed that Biden suffers from ‘poor memory’ and, even in his ‘prime,’ could not be trusted with sensitive information.”
Special Counsel Robert Hur’s report noted that, when interviewed, Biden “did not remember when he was vice president, forgetting on the first day of the interview when his term ended (‘if it was 2013—when did I stop being Vice President?’), and forgetting on the second day of the interview when his term began (‘in 2009, am I still Vice President?’).” Additionally, Hur noted Biden “did not remember, even within several years, when his son Beau died.”
More damningly, Hur found Biden “willfully retained and disclosed classified materials after his vice presidency when he was a private citizen.”
President Trump concluded his announcement saying, “I will always protect our National Security — JOE, YOU’RE FIRED. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!”
