Gas Prices Hit Highest Level of Trump’s Two Terms Due to Iran War.

PULSE POINTS

âť“WHAT HAPPENED: Gas prices have surged to $3.32 per gallon, the highest since President Donald J. Trump’s return to office, following U.S.-led strikes on Iran.

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: President Trump, Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, Interior Secretary Doug Burgum, and analysts like Torbjorn Soltvedt and Matt Wright.

📍WHEN & WHERE: Strikes began Saturday in Iran, with immediate impacts on global oil markets and U.S. gas stations.

đź’¬KEY QUOTE: “I don’t have any concern about it. They’ll drop very rapidly when this is over, and if they rise, they rise, but this is far more important than having gasoline prices go up a little bit.” – President Trump

🎯IMPACT: Rising gas prices strain household budgets and businesses, while the global oil market faces further uncertainty amid Middle East tensions.

IN FULL

Gasoline prices have risen to $3.32 per gallon, their highest level since September 2024, as the Iran war disrupts global energy markets. The increase follows a U.S.-led military operation in Iran that has killed the Islamic Republic’s Supreme Leader, Grand Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, and several senior Iranian officials. The strikes, along with Iran’s retaliatory attacks on Israel and U.S.-aligned Middle Eastern countries, have disrupted oil and natural gas flows and heightened concerns about supply shortages.

The recent spike marks a sharp reversal from just a few months ago, when fuel prices were significantly lower. By late December 2025, the national average for gasoline had fallen to about $2.75 per gallon, the lowest level since 2021, according to GasBuddy. Some stations in certain states were even selling fuel for under $2 per gallon, reflecting strong U.S. oil production, stable global markets, and robust refinery output. That trend has quickly changed now that war has broken out.

In addition to launching strikes on Israeli and Gulf targets, Iranian attacks have also hit regional energy infrastructure. For instance, Saudi authorities were forced to shut down operations at the massive Ras Tanura oil refinery after drone attacks sparked fires, raising fears of broader disruptions to global oil supply. Brent crude prices have already surged toward $100 per barrel as traders factor in the risk of further disruptions.

The Trump administration says it is taking steps to address rising energy costs and stabilize supply.

President Donald J. Trump announced that the U.S. Development Finance Corporation will provide risk insurance and guarantees to protect maritime trade in the Gulf, especially energy shipments. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said the administration is considering additional measures to stabilize supply flows, while Interior Secretary Doug Burgum stated that “everything is being considered,” including tapping U.S. crude reserves and adjusting fuel-blending requirements.

The U.S. Navy is also prepared to escort tankers through the Strait of Hormuz if necessary. Some analysts are skeptical. Energy analyst Matt Wright has questioned whether escorting vessels is practical given the large number of ships passing through the strait each day.

Trump downplayed concerns about the impact of higher gas prices, saying, “I don’t have any concern about it. They’ll drop very rapidly when this is over, and if they rise, they rise, but this is far more important than having gasoline prices go up a little bit.”

Historic American Church Destroyed in Deliberate Arson Attack.

A 140-year-old church in Buffalo, New York, was destroyed by arson, raising concerns over anti-Christian attacks and the vulnerability of historic sites.

PULSE POINTS
❓ WHAT HAPPENED: The former St. Ann’s Church in Buffalo, New York, was destroyed after two fires broke out within a week, with officials confirming the latest fire was an act of arson. The 140-year-old church, which had been sold in 2022 for conversion into a mosque and Islamic community center, had previously suffered a schoolhouse fire in January that caused $600,000 in damages.
📺 DETAIL: St. Ann’s Parish was closed in 2013 and officially deconsecrated in 2017, later being sold to Buffalo Crescent Holdings, a group linked to a Muslim organization, for $250,000. Plans for a multimillion-dollar redevelopment project, including an Islamic school, mosque, and shopping plaza, have stalled, with no updates from the owners. Preservation advocates and local officials have criticized the property’s absentee owners for neglecting to secure the historic site, which had been repeatedly targeted by fires this year.
đź’¬ KEY QUOTE: “Preservation Buffalo Niagara calls on the City of Buffalo to pull out all the stops to wrestle this landmark church from its negligent absentee owner. Enough is enough!” – Bernice Radle, Preservation Buffalo Niagara Executive Director, calling for the city to take action against negligent property owners.
🎯 IMPACT: The destruction of St. Ann’s Church highlights ongoing concerns over the security and preservation of historic Christian buildings, particularly those left in a state of disrepair by absentee owners. The incident also raises questions about the city’s ability to enforce property maintenance and prevent arson at vulnerable sites.
📺 FLASHBACK: In recent months, other historic churches in New York have been targeted by arson, including a 173-year-old church in Brooklyn and a 138-year-old church in Astoria.

Illegal Immigrant Trucker Caught Transporting Stolen Toxic Chemicals.

An illegal immigrant truck was apprehended in Indiana after allegedly stealing a $3 million shipment of toxic tungsten oxide, raising concerns over licensing practices.

PULSE POINTS
âť“ WHAT HAPPENED: Authorities in Greenfield, Indiana, arrested Deepak Kumar, a 31-year-old illegal immigrant from India, for allegedly stealing a $3 million shipment of toxic tungsten oxide powder. The stolen shipment, weighing nearly 40,000 pounds, was recovered after police identified the suspect’s vehicle using a camera alert system.
📺 DETAIL: The shipment, intended for Mitsubishi Materials Corporation in Japan, was reported missing after the company lost contact with the driver on June 26. Kumar was found with fraudulent identification, including an invalid work visa and a fake New York license, but had apparently been issued with a commercial driver’s license (CDL) by California. The Indian reportedly has a history of arrests for fraud, identity theft, and other crimes. Significantly, tungsten oxide is used to make advanced materials such as armor-piercing rounds and lasers.
🎯 IMPACT: Kumar’s arrest highlights ongoing concerns about illegal immigrants obtaining commercial driver’s licenses, with a significant number of Americans killed on the roads by careless, unqualified foreign drivers, and the potential security risks posed by unvetted drivers handling hazardous materials. U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has lodged a detainer to transfer Kumar into federal custody.
📺 FLASHBACK: The Trump administration has been cracking down on states issuing commercial driver’s licenses to illegal immigrants, citing risks of unqualified drivers transporting dangerous materials alongside their threat to other motorists. Former acting ICE Director Todd Lyons warned in 2025, “We don’t know what they’re carrying across state lines in an 18-wheeler, terrorists will stop at nothing to harm the United States, and it is well within the realm of possibility that some of these trucks… could be carrying toxic chemicals, bombs, or God knows what.”

Teen Migrant Arrested After 80-Year-Old Woman Raped and Robbed.

The shocking attack on an elderly woman in Rennes, France, has reignited concerns over migrant crime in the country, with public anger rising over how French authorities are doing little to stem the tide of criminality.

PULSE POINTS
âť“ WHAT HAPPENED: In Rennes, France, an 80-year-old woman was raped and robbed earlier this month by a 16-year-old Moroccan as she returned home from an evening out with her daughter. The suspect approached her on a scooter, followed her into her building in the Colombier area after she refused his escort, pinned her against a wall, and raped her, before stealing a piece of gold jewelry and fleeing.
📺 DETAIL: Police arrested the teenager on Tuesday following a swift investigation involving CCTV and DNA evidence; he was found in possession of cocaine and is described as a legally residing but unaccompanied homeless minor born in Morocco in June 2010. His custody was extended ahead of a court appearance. The case has shocked the country and comes amid growing public alarm over crime, with a recent CSA poll for Le Journal du Dimanche revealing that 72 percent of French respondents believe crime has spiraled out of control. Even majorities of President Emmanuel Macron’s supporters (62 percent), left-wing voters (55 percent), and far-left voters (58 percent) share this view, while only Green Party voters were less concerned, at 45 percent.
🎯 IMPACT: This attack has further fueled public perception of rising crime driven by mass migration in France, adding pressure on government and law enforcement to address concerns over safety, particularly regarding crimes involving migrants. Currently, the anti-mass migration National Rally (RN) party, led by Marine Le Pen, is leading the polls for the French presidential elections, which begin in April 2027.

Houthi Strikes on Saudi Tankers Send Oil Prices Past $100.

Houthi attacks on Saudi vessels in the Red Sea have further restricted the global oil supply, causing prices to surge and prompting President Trump to threaten military action in Yemen.

PULSE POINTS
âť“ WHAT HAPPENED: Houthi militants allied with Iran claim to have struck two Saudi Arabian-flagged tankers in the Red Sea, causing oil prices to pass $100 a barrel for the first time since May. The Red Sea had become a significant alternative trade route for global oil, natural gas, and fertilizer supplies after Iran had largely closed down the Strait of Hormuz. President Donald J. Trump has threatened expanded military action against both Iran and the Houthis if further attacks occur.
đź’¬ KEY QUOTE: “A year ago the United States of America attacked, very powerfully, the Houthis, for their interference with commerce and trade, by shooting at ships. Since that time, and during our conflict with Iran, they have acted very responsibly. Unfortunately, now they are starting up again, shooting at two Saudi Arabian ships last night… major military punishment will be inflicted upon Iran and, of course, the Houthis, themselves, who I am very disappointed with in that they have, until now, acted very professionally and smart. ” – President Trump on Truth Social
🎯 IMPACT: The attacks have intensified the oil crisis, affecting global markets and causing U.S. stock markets to open lower on Thursday. The price of gasoline in the U.S. has risen, and the yield on the 10-year treasury bond has increased, indicating broader economic repercussions.
đź“° DETAIL: The Houthi strikes form part of a broader conflict involving the U.S. and Iran, with both sides exchanging attacks across the Middle East. The Houthis, who control Yemen’s major population centers, are widely regarded as a proxy for Iran, much like Hezbollah in Lebanon.
đź‘€ FLASHBACK: A ceasefire between the U.S. and Iran in June had temporarily stabilized oil prices, but its collapse following Iranian attacks on ships in the Strait of Hormuz, which prompted heavy, ongoing U.S. retaliatory strikes, has reignited hostilities and economic instability.

Secret Service Swamped by Record 10,000 Threats Targeting Trump and Other Protectees.

The Secret Service has revealed an unprecedented surge in threats against President Trump, raising concerns about violent leftist rhetoric and its real-world consequences.

PULSE POINTS
âť“ WHAT HAPPENED: The Secret Service investigated approximately 10,000 threats against President Donald J. Trump and other protectees in just the first half of 2026, a significant increase compared to prior years. Director Sean Curran described the volume of threats as unprecedented in his 24-year career.
📺 DETAIL: The surge in threats coincides with multiple left-wing assassination attempts and terrorist attacks, including an armed man attempting to breach a checkpoint near the White House Correspondents’ Dinner venue where Trump was in attendance in April, the assassination of Turning Point USA ally Charlie Kirk, and a sniper ambush on a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) facility. Past attempts on President Trump’s life include a shooting at a Pennsylvania rally in 2024, when he was hit in the ear and three supporters were wounded, one fatally, and an attempt to assassinate him on a Florida golf course later the same year, which resulted in the serious injury of a six-year-old girl during the would-be assassin’s escape attempt.
đź’¬ KEY QUOTE: “The numbers are numbers that this agency and certainly I have never seen in my 24-year career.” – Sean Curran, Secret Service Director
🎯 IMPACT: The alarming rise in threats underscores the heightened dangers facing President Trump, his administration, and his supporters, as well as the broader threat posed by the left’s increasingly polarized political rhetoric.
📺 FLASHBACK: A group of alleged domestic terrorists were alleged to have plotted a drone and sniper attack at the UFC’s recent America 250 event at the White House. Plotters allegedly planned to use droneborne explosives to sow chaos, before opening fire on the fleeing crowds and attempting to storm the gates to the White House.

Iran Strikes CIA Sites, Russian Involvement Suspected.

U.S. intelligence is probing potential Russian assistance in Iran’s drone attacks on CIA facilities in the Middle East.

PULSE POINTS
âť“ WHAT HAPPENED: Iranian drone attacks on Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) facilities in the Middle East have led U.S. intelligence analysts to investigate potential Russian involvement in providing targeting information or advanced drone technology to the Islamic Republic, following the breakdown of a ceasefire over attacks on ships in the Strait of Hormuz.
đź“° DETAIL: The attacks, which occurred in March, targeted at least two CIA sites, including one in the U.S. embassy in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and another in eastern Iraq. The precision and effectiveness of the strikes have raised suspicions about possible Russian assistance, given their history of technical support to Iran, and Iran’s role in supplying Russia with drones for the Ukraine war. The Reuters news wire agency has cited sources claiming further strikes on additional, non-specified CIA sites.
🎯 IMPACT: If confirmed, Russian involvement in targeting CIA facilities would indicate a significant escalation in Moscow’s willingness to disrupt U.S. operations in the Middle East. Significantly, the U.S. has long provided critical intelligence to Ukraine, with Russia possibly viewing similar assistance to Iran as justified, despite official denials that it has, for instance, given the Islamic Republic access to its Kometa-M satellite navigation system.

EU Hits Google with €890M Fine for Anti-Competitive Practices.

The European Union has imposed a multi-million fine on Google under the bloc’s Digital Markets Act, accusing the tech giant of unfairly prioritizing its own services over competitors.

PULSE POINTS
❓ WHAT HAPPENED: Google has been fined almost €1 billion (over $1 billion) by the European Union for allegedly favoring its own services over competitors.
📺 DETAIL: The European Union (EU) has fined Google €890 million (approximately $1 billion) for allegedly abusing its market dominance to prioritize its apps and other services over competitors. The EU’s fine includes €460 million for Google allegedly prioritizing its own services in search results and €430 million for measures that allegedly prevented users from finding cheaper offers outside Google’s marketplace. The fine was issued under the EU’s Digital Markets Act (DMA). “The best products should succeed because they’re better, not because they’re owned by the company running the search engine,” said Teresa Ribera, the EU’s Commissioner for Competition.
đź’¬ KEY QUOTE: “To comply, we are having to strip away real-time Search features Europeans love – like instant pricing and direct availability for hotels, flights and restaurants – and dismantle safety protections on Google Play… This isn’t fair competition.” – Kent Walker, President of Global Affairs at Google
🎯 IMPACT: This marks the first significant enforcement of the DMA by the European Commission, the EU’s executive body. The decision could set a precedent for the bloc’s dealings with multinational tech companies in the future. Following the decision, Google has 60 days to comply with EU regulations or challenge the fine in court. This decision represents a continuation of clashes between Google and the EU over tech regulations. “After this decision, we want to make sure that there is more competition and also other companies are able to innovate,” claimed Henna Virkunnen, the EU Commission’s vice president for technology. The EU’s fine against Google follows a similar action against AliExpress, a Chinese online marketplace. AliExpress was fined €550 million (~$629 million) for failing to sufficiently crack down on unsafe and counterfeit products on its platform. This fine is the largest ever issued under the bloc’s Digital Services Act (DSA).

Anti-Mass Migration Populists Take Record Poll Lead in Germany.

Germany’s Alternative for Germany (AfD) party has reached a record polling lead over the governing party led by the widely unpopular Chancellor Friedrich Merz.

PULSE POINTS
âť“ WHAT HAPPENED: Support for the Alternative for Germany (AfD) party has reached a record high, according to a new poll.
📺 DETAIL: According to Insa, a German polling company, support for the AfD has surged to 29 percent, constituting an 8.5-point lead over the governing Christian Democratic Union/Christian Social Union (CDU/CSU), formerly led by Angela Merkel. This is the largest lead ever recorded for the AfD by the polling firm. The same poll revealed that support for the notionally center-right CDU/CSU fell to 20.5 percent. The CDU/CSU’s coalition partner, the left-wing Social Democrats (SD), polled in a distant 13 percent. The far-left Die Linke (The Left) party polled even worse on 10.5 percent. The findings put the establishment “Red and Black” coalition (the party colors of the SD and CDU, respectively) on a combined total of 33.5 percent. This represents a decline of nearly 12 points since the government was elected last year. This combined total is only four points ahead of the AfD on its own. The findings coincide with the widespread unpopularity of Chancellor Friedrich Merz. Germany’s governing coalition’s popularity has been undermined by economic struggles, including soaring energy prices brought on by the loss of Russian gas and the premature phaseout of nuclear power, declining industrial competitiveness, and high immigration.
🎯 IMPACT: The findings of the poll suggest the establishment parties’ “firewall” against the AfD is waning, as the governing coalition fails to grapple with the problems facing the country. As Germany’s electoral system requires coalition-building between parties to form governments, the establishment parties from both the left and right typically form coalitions to keep the AfD out of government. At the state level, establishment parties, even the nominally conservative CDU, have also been known to form coalitions with the far-left just to prevent the AfD from getting into positions of power. However, as support for the populist party continues to grow, this strategy may cease to be viable, especially when the establishment parties make themselves the target of blame for Germany’s worsening economic and social circumstances.
📺 FLASHBACK: It was previously reported in August last year that the AfD had topped the German polls. The party polled at 26 percent among Germany voters, according to a survey conducted by the Forsa Institute for Social Research and Statistical Analysis.

AOC, Buttigieg Lead Democrat Poll — Newsom a Distant Fourth.

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s (D-NY) early lead in New Hampshire over more moderate rivals signals the growing influence of far-left socialism within the Democratic Party.

PULSE POINTS
âť“ WHAT HAPPENED: Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) has topped a New Hampshire Democrat primary poll, narrowly leading former Biden government Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg.
📺 DETAIL: On Wednesday, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, known as AOC, emerged as the favored Democrat candidate for President, with 22 percent support. Pete Buttigieg came in a close second with 21 percent. Meanwhile, Democrat Governor of California Gavin Newsom polled in a distant fourth, on eight percent, one point behind Senator Mark Kelly (D-AZ) on nine percent. Failed 2024 presidential candidate Kamala Harris is polling in sixth place, on five percent, behind Bernie Sanders, who will be 87 years old during the November 2028 presidential election, on six percent. Significantly, a separate Harvard CAPS/Harris poll shows that Vice President J.D. Vance is more popular than AOC. The poll similarly revealed that Governor Newsom was trailing other candidates.
🎯 IMPACT: New Hampshire holds significant weight in the presidential primaries. As one of the earliest states in the primary process, candidates who do well in New Hampshire gain early-race momentum. AOC’s lead underscores the growing influence of far-left socialism within the Democratic Party. This follows a comment from Representative Gwen Moore (D-WI) encouraging the Democrats to embrace the term “socialist.” The minimum age to run for President is 35-years-old. Having previously been ineligible to run for President, come 2028, AOC will be old enough to stand as a candidate. Given the sizeable support the New York Representative has garnered, it is possible that polls such as these encourage her to pursue the nomination. However, given that AOC only has a narrow lead, closely followed by Buttigieg, who is viewed as more moderate, such findings could also indicate a growing rift within the Democrats over whether to turn leftward following their crushing defeat to President Donald J. Trump in the 2024 Presidential election.

Secret Service Agent Accused of Leaking Sensitive Info About Vance.

A Secret Service agent has been placed on leave following allegations of leaking sensitive operational details about Vice President JD Vance and his family, raising concerns over potential security breaches.

PULSE POINTS
âť“ WHAT HAPPENED:  A U.S. Secret Service agent assigned to Vice President JD Vance‘s protective detail has been placed on administrative leave and is under internal investigation after allegedly leaking information about the Vice President’s travel schedule and security operations. The reported disclosures included details about Vance’s family travel plans, complaints from agents over last-minute schedule changes, and the Secret Service codename used for the Vice President, prompting concern among White House officials over a potential security breach.
📺 DETAIL: Sources said the investigation was launched after the publication of a report describing Vance’s travel arrangements, including a planned Marine Corps helicopter flight with his son that was later canceled due to severe weather. The Secret Service has not publicly identified the agent, and it remains unclear whether they will face disciplinary action or criminal charges. In a statement, Deputy Director Matt Quinn said agents assigned to protective details understand the demands of the job, including long hours, frequent travel, and the need for constant flexibility, emphasizing that the role requires “absolute dedication and discipline.” Vance’s office said the Vice President and his family are grateful for this professionalism. The investigation comes as the Trump administration continues its broader effort to crack down on unauthorized disclosures of sensitive government information.
🎯 IMPACT: The leaks have raised serious concerns within the Secret Service, the FBI, and the White House, given the potential risks posed by unauthorized disclosures. The suspended agent’s future remains uncertain as the investigation continues, with potential administrative or criminal consequences on the table.
📺 FLASHBACK: The Trump administration previously vowed to crack down on unauthorized leaks, with reporters being subpoenaed earlier this month over disclosures regarding security features on President Trump’s aircraft.
