It was then taken to Dover on the southern coast of England, carrying a record-breaking 165 illegal migrants. The vessel was reportedly overcrowded and taking on water. Despite this, it was sent out to sea. French patrol ships provided life jackets and attempted to assist the illegal migrants, but they refused to disembark. This marks the second consecutive day of illegal crossings of the Channel by boats of illegal migrants, breaking an 11-day pause of such crossings from northern France.

Despite this, the vessel continues on its way… The crew is constantly trying to inflate the side float, while taking in significant amounts of water,” said a French lifeboat service spokesman as the crisis was unfolding.
