DATA: Trump More Popular Than Beyonce, DeSantis Less Liked Than Kamala (According to Ron’s Own Pollster).

A recent NBC News poll indicates that the right to kill babies in the womb as well as the abstract notion of protecting America’s “democracy” are the two foremost concerns for single-issue voters, ostensibly ranking higher than immigration and the border, and indeed the economy.

According to the survey, 19 percent of single-issue voters declared that safeguarding democracy or constitutional rights was their paramount issue. The closely trailing concern was the right to abortion, with 18 percent citing it as their primary single-issue.

The poll, which surveyed 1,000 voters between November 10-14, revealed that besides democracy and abortion rights, the only other concern to exceed 10 percent was immigration or border security, reported by 14 percent of those polled. Gun rights stood at nine percent.

Popularity Contest.

The poll also found a massive disapproval rating for Biden and his economy, foreign policy, and discovered that a record 76 percent of voters do not feel confident about leaving the country in a better shape for their children.

Thirty-six percent of people feel positive about Biden, the same number as Donald Trump. Kamala Harris has a 29 percent positive rating, polling higher than Ron DeSantis who is on 27 points. By comparison to so-called “popular celebrities”, Taylor Swift has a 40 percent positive rating, with Beyonce on just 33 percent.

Israel is popular with 47 percent of Americans, with “Palestine” only drawing support from one in five (20 percent).

The poll was conducted by Hart Research and Public Opinion Strategies (POS), the latter of which is closely affiliated with the DeSantis campaign, making the Florida Governor’s unpopularity in the data even more humiliating.

Foreign Agent Filing Reveals Israel-Backed Plan to Geofence Churches, Track and Target Phones of Christians.

PULSE POINTS

WHAT HAPPENED: Federal government Foreign Agents Registration Act (FARA) filings reveal a group called Show Faith by Works, LLC, with the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs serving as the principal, is planning to launch an influence campaign targeting Christian churches and organizations in the Western United States with digital ads and a “mobile museum.”

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: Show Faith by Works, LLC, the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Christian churches and universities in the United States.

📍WHEN & WHERE: Filing was made on September 27, 2025.

💬KEY QUOTE: “We will target and distribute pro-Israel information online and through targeted geofencing and digital online tools,” the FARA filing reads, continuing: “We will have teams of people reaching out to churches and Pastors and possibly even Christian social media influencers. Some of this is still undecided and fluid, but these are the outlets we have planned and proposed.”

🎯IMPACT: While Show Faith by Works, LLC’s filing suggests its primary goal is tourism promotion, it is telling that some or all of the budget comes from the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs and not the Ministry of Tourism—indicating the ad campaign serves to influence politics more than anything else.

IN FULL

Federal government Foreign Agents Registration Act (FARA) filings reveal a group called Show Faith by Works, LLC, with the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs serving as the principal, is planning to launch an influence campaign targeting Christian churches and organizations in the Western United States with digital ads and a “mobile museum.”

“We will target and distribute pro-Israel information online and through targeted geofencing and digital online tools,” the FARA filing reads, continuing: “We will have teams of people reaching out to churches and Pastors and possibly even Christian social media influencers. Some of this is still undecided and fluid, but these are the outlets we have planned and proposed.”

In addition, Show Faith by Works, LLC states its influence campaign’s goal is to “[encourage] Christians to have a more favorable view of the Nation of Israel, and to encourage Christians to visit Israel for tourism purposes.”

One of the primary methods the group says it will employ in its campaign is geofenced digital ads, meaning the online advertisements will be limited to specific geographic locations, even individual buildings. Geofencing is a common practice in the digital advertising space to ensure a specific audience or consumer base is reached.

In the case of Show Faith by Works, LLC, it appears they intend to geofence their ad campaign to specific, predetermined churches and Christian universities. It is unclear if ad recipients will continue to receive the digital messages outside of the geofenced area, though that is often an option employed by advertisers to keep their ads in front of their desired audience.

Specifically, the filing states they will “Geofence the actual boundaries of every Major church in California, Arizona, Nevada and Coloardo and all Christian Colleges during worship times,” and “Track attendees and continue to target with ads.”

Show Faith by Works, LLC FARA filing.

While not entirely foolproof, the identity of an ad’s recipient is anonymized, meaning neither Show Faith by Works, LLC nor the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs should know the real identities of those viewing their ads.

The FARA filings reveal an expansive campaign, with a total budget of nearly $1 million, with just under $700,000 earmarked for the ads themselves. While much of the campaign appears focused on tourism promotion to Christian pastors, the filing’s links to the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs, rather than the Ministry of Tourism, do indicate that political influence on behalf of the Israeli government is at least a secondary goal.

Notably, Show Faith by Works, LLC’s filing reveals that at least some portion of the campaign budget is directly financed by the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Any organization seeking to influence U.S. politics using funding from a foreign government must legally register under FARA.

Amazon Quietly Backs Down After Backlash Over Gunless James Bond Posters.

PULSE POINTS

WHAT HAPPENED: Amazon Prime Video removed doctored James Bond promotional material after backlash over its removal of guns from posters.

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: Amazon Prime Video, James Bond fans.

📍WHEN & WHERE: October 2025, on the Prime Video UK website.

💬KEY QUOTE: “They photoshopped all the guns out of the James Bond movie thumbnails. Just in case you still had hope for Amazon being in charge of the franchise.” – author John A. Douglas.

🎯IMPACT: Concerns are growing about the future portrayal of James Bond under Amazon’s ownership.

IN FULL

Amazon Prime Video has been heavily criticized for altering its James Bond artwork to remove the iconic secret agent’s pistol from digital movie posters. The move sparked intense fan pushback, which resulted in the doctored posters being quietly removed.

The artwork, displayed on the Prime Video UK website, featured digitally disarmed images of Bond. In classic films like Dr. No and Goldeneye, Bond’s iconic Walther PPK pistol was edited out, and in A View to a Kill, Roger Moore’s arms were awkwardly lengthened to exclude the firearm.

Social media users criticized the move. “They photoshopped all the guns out of the James Bond movie thumbnails. Just in case you still had hope for Amazon being in charge of the franchise,” said author John A. Douglas.

In response to the growing backlash, Prime Video UK quietly removed the altered images, replacing them with stills from the films. Notably, these stills also do not feature Bond carrying a gun, and Prime Video has declined to comment on the controversy.

The incident has stirred concerns among fans about the future portrayal of James Bond, especially with a new film in the works under director Denis Villeneuve.

The move to censor Bond is just part of a broader woke trend seen at Amazon in recent years. Last year, the tech giant broadcast a “Queer fantasy” show about England’s King Edward VI, portraying him as black, gay, and disabled. Despite positive reviews from politically partisan critics, the show was cancelled after a single season due to a lack of audience interest.

Violent Crime Surged in This Dem City Last Weekend, With Over 30 Shot.

PULSE POINTS

WHAT HAPPENED: At least 30 people were shot, five of them fatally, over the weekend in Chicago, Illinois.

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: Victims of gun violence in Chicago, with Mayor Brandon Johnson (D) overseeing the city.

📍WHEN & WHERE: Over the weekend in Chicago, including a fatal shooting early Monday morning.

🎯IMPACT: The violence highlights ongoing concerns about crime and the effectiveness of law enforcement in Chicago and Illinois.

IN FULL

Over 30 people were shot, five of them fatally, this past weekend in Chicago, Illinois, marking a deadly surge in violent crime under far-left Mayor Brandon Johnson (D). Police reports indicate that at least 13 people were shot between Friday and Saturday night alone, with four of those victims succumbing to their injuries.

By Monday morning, the number of gun crime victims had risen to 30, with a fifth fatality occurring early Monday around 3 AM in the 3900 block of South Archer Avenue. The victim, a 33-year-old man, was shot twice following an argument and later died at a hospital.

Chicago, like the rest of Democrat-governed Illinois, has strict gun control measures. These include bans on “assault weapons” and “high capacity” magazines, a red flag law, a 72-hour waiting period on gun purchases, and a Firearm Owners Identification (FOID) card requirement. Additionally, Cook County, where Chicago is located, has its own restrictions, including bans on “assault weapons” and “high-capacity” magazines.

President Donald J. Trump has repeatedly offered and pushed for the deployment of National Guard and other federal law enforcement resources to the Democrat-controlled city in the midst of surging violent crime. However, Mayor Johnson and Governor J.B. Pritzker (D-IL) are resisting federal assistance on partisan grounds.

Meanwhile, in nearby Broad View, a suburb of Chicago, far-left rioters have laid siege to a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) detention facility being used as part of a federal immigration enforcement action dubbed the “Midway Blitz.” The National Pulse reported late last month that ICE and Border Patrol agents have made numerous arrests since the operation began on September 8, including the seizure of firearms.

This State Wants You to Hand Over Control of Your Thermostat.

PULSE POINTS

WHAT HAPPENED: A bill allowing utility firms to adjust customers’ thermostats during peak demand times is under consideration in Ohio.

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: Republican state Rep. Roy Klopfenstein introduced the bill, with backing from environmental groups.

📍WHEN & WHERE: The bill was introduced in late August and referred to the Ohio House Energy Committee last month.

💬KEY QUOTE: “Demand response programs have proven to be a vital tool for our large commercial users,” said Rep. Klopfenstein.

🎯IMPACT: The bill aims to improve grid reliability and reduce costs, with potential savings of up to $104 million.

IN FULL

Ohio’s House Bill 427, introduced by Republican State Rep. Roy Klopfenstein, aims to overhaul energy regulations by allowing utility firms to adjust customers’ energy use, such as turning down their thermostats during peak times. For now, the scheme is intended to be voluntary, with payments offered to customers who sign up—but skeptics fear it could pave the way for compulsory remote control of people’s energy use in the service of green agenda policies.

“This legislation is a crucial step in our state’s comprehensive plan to ensure all Ohioans have access to reliable, affordable, and readily available energy,” insists state Representative Roy Klopfenstein, the Republican lawmaker who introduced the bill.

Environmental groups, like the Ohio Environmental Council, back the bill, citing potential savings and grid improvements. The council’s managing director for energy policy, Nolan Rutschilling, claims, “This legislation allows utilities and retail energy providers to establish programs that save customers money.” However, such promises of savings fail to fully address concerns about handing over control, voluntary or not, of householders’ energy use, especially if an opt-in pilot lays the groundwork for a compulsory program.

If passed, the program could launch within two years, with a review by the state’s public utility commission after three. Democrat-governed Arizona and Connecticut are already looking to test similar demand-response programs.

Abbott Refuses to Block Deployment of Texas National Guard to Illinois.

PULSE POINTS

WHAT HAPPENED: Texas Governor Greg Abbott (R) authorized President Donald J. Trump to call up 400 members of the Texas National Guard to protect federal officers in other states, rejecting an appeal from Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker (D) to oppose the deployment.

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: Governor Abbott, President Trump, Governor Pritzker, and War Secretary Pete Hegseth.

📍WHEN & WHERE: Announced on Sunday, with deployments planned for Illinois, Oregon, and other locations.

💬KEY QUOTE: “You can either fully enforce protection for federal employees or get out of the way and let Texas Guard do it.” – Greg Abbott

🎯IMPACT: The decision underscores the growing tensions between Republican and Democratic states as the Trump administration enforces federal immigration law, often against the wishes of pro-illegal immigrant state politicians and activists.

IN FULL

Texas Governor Greg Abbott (R) has approved President Donald J. Trump’s request to deploy 400 Texas National Guard members for federal duty to safeguard federal officers in cities like Chicago, Illinois, and Portland, Oregon, where state and local leadership is Democratic and largely opposed to enforcing federal immigration law. Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker had urged Abbott to oppose the deployment.

War Secretary Pete Hegseth has confirmed the guardsmen will serve for up to 60 days in states including Illinois and Oregon. Abbott said of the initiative, “I fully authorized the President to call up 400 members of the Texas National Guard to ensure safety for federal officials.” He also criticized Pritzker’s resistance, saying, “You can either fully enforce protection for federal employees or get out of the way and let Texas Guard do it.”

Pritzker denounced the move as “Trump’s Invasion,” complaining that no federal officials consulted him beforehand. He argued, “There is no reason a President should send military troops into a sovereign state without their knowledge, consent, or cooperation.”

Oregon, governed by Christine ‘Tina’ Kotek (D), has also resisted National Guard deployments. A federal judge has already issued a temporary restraining order blocking the deployment of 200 Oregon National Guard troops to Portland, citing concerns about using military force without evidence of a significant threat or insurrection despite the regular attacks on a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) facility in the city. Efforts to deploy National Guard units from California have also been blocked. The Trump administration intends to appeal these decisions.

White House spokeswoman Abigail Jackson said of the pending Guard deployments, “Amidst ongoing violent riots and lawlessness, that local leaders like Pritzker have refused to step in to quell, President Trump has authorized 300 national guardsmen to protect federal officers and assets. President Trump will not turn a blind eye to the lawlessness plaguing American cities.”

Federal Judge Blocks Trump from Deploying National Guard to Portland.

PULSE POINTS

WHAT HAPPENED: A federal judge blocked the Trump administration for a second time from deploying the National Guard to Portland, Oregon issuing an emergency temporary restraining order.

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: U.S. District Court. Judge Karin Immergut, Justice Department (DOJ) attorney Eric Hamilton, and President Donald J. Trump.

📍WHEN & WHERE: Sunday evening in Portland, Oregon.

💬KEY QUOTE: “How could bringing in federalized National Guard from California not be in direct contravention of the TRO that I issued yesterday?” – Judge Karin Immergut.

🎯IMPACT: The ruling halted federal troop movements and denied a DOJ request for a stay, citing no new facts to justify deployment.

IN FULL

U.S. District Court Judge Karin Immergut moved to bar President Donald J. Trump for a second time from deploying the National Guard to Portland, Oregon. This came after the judge had issued a temporary restraining order the day before.

Immergut, a Trump appointee, ruled late Sunday that the deployment violated both 10 U.S.C. §12406 and the Tenth Amendment. The ruling prevents the deployment of California’s National Guard, as well as troops from other states or Washington, D.C., to Oregon. During the proceedings, Immergut questioned Department of Justice (DOJ) attorney Eric Hamilton, asking, “How could bringing in federalized National Guard from California not be in direct contravention of the TRO that I issued yesterday?”

She added, “You have to have a colorable claim that Oregon conditions warrant deploying the National Guard—you don’t.”

The DOJ requested a stay on the restraining order, but Immergut denied the request, citing the lack of new information to justify altering her ruling. “I’m handling this on an emergency basis with limited briefing,” she stated.

DOJ representatives have indicated that the administration plans to appeal the ruling, arguing that the President has authority under federal law to deploy National Guard forces in cases of “domestic unrest.”

Former Cabinet Member Demands UK Govt Explain Farage Security Cuts Amid Rising Political Violence.

PULSE POINTS

WHAT HAPPENED: Former Conservative Party (Tory) chairman and Cabinet member David Davis has called on the British government to reinstate Nigel Farage’s police protection after it was slashed by 75 percent last month.

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: Nigel Farage, David Davis, Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood, of the governing Labour Party, and Labour Members of Parliament (MPs) Jonathan Brash and Mike Tapp.

📍WHEN & WHERE: The funding cut was made last month in Britain, with Davis’s letter sent this week.

💬KEY QUOTE: “It strikes me that Mr Farage is a particularly high-profile target, arguably at greater risk than many Cabinet ministers.” – David Davis

🎯IMPACT: Concerns have been raised about political violence and the potential for attacks targeting high-profile conservatives in emulation of the assassination of Turning Point USA (TPUSA) founder Charlie Kirk.

IN FULL

The former chairman of the United Kingdom’s Conservative (Tory) Party, David Davis, is calling on the country’s ruling Labour Party to restore funding for Reform Party leader Nigel Farage‘s police protection. Last month, the government slashed funding for Farage’s security by 75 percent, according to the Reform Party.

“In the aftermath of the murders of [Labour politician] Jo Cox and [Tory politician Sir David Amess, and more recently the assassination of Charlie Kirk, we should not overlook the danger of copycat attacks,” Davis wrote in a letter to Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood, who has made inflammatory remarks about Farage in the past. “Accordingly, the risks to individuals in this category appear to be extremely high. It strikes me that Mr Farage is a particularly high-profile target, arguably at greater risk than many Cabinet ministers.”

Numerous election polls have shown Reform on course to make massive gains in Britain’s next election, gaining enough parliamentary seats for Farage to likely be able to form a government outright or lead a coalition. This surge in support has set off panic among the globalist elite, with Conservative former Prime Minister Boris Johnson recently calling Farage “extremely dangerous” regarding his policy toward Russia and Ukraine. The former prime minister went on to insinuate that Farage was a threat to national security.

Incumbent Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer, while speaking at the Labour Party conference in Liverpool recently, called Reform’s opposition to mass migration “racist.” Meanwhile, Mahmood has called Farage “a little bit worse than racist” and accused the Brexit leader of having “blown a very, very loud dog whistle to every racist in the country.” Earlier this week, anti-Trump Deputy Prime Minister David Lammy was forced to apologize for remarks where he accused Farage of having “once flirted with the Hitler Youth.”

Notably, rank-and-file Labour Members of Parliament (MPs) have used the situation to mock Farage, with Jonathan Brash calling him a “coward” and “pathetic” for expressing concern about threats. Similarly, Mike Tapp labeled Farage a “snowflake” for raising the issue.

During a television interview on Wednesday, Reform’s head of policy, Zia Yusuf,  accused Prime Minister Starmer of having “embarked on a campaign with his Cabinet to incite violence” against Farage.

Amazon Sent One Woman Hundreds of Ballots in This Dem State.

PULSE POINTS

WHAT HAPPENED: A Maine woman received 250 unused state election ballots in an Amazon package she ordered, prompting an investigation.

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: Maine Secretary of State Shenna Bellows (D), Maine House Republican Leader Billy Bob Faulkingham, and voters in the state.

📍WHEN & WHERE: Newburgh, Maine, just days before mail-in voting begins for a state referendum on absentee voting regulations.

💬KEY QUOTE: “Safe and secure elections are my top priority. Law enforcement is working diligently to determine who is responsible, and they will be held accountable.” – Shenna Bellows

🎯IMPACT: The incident has raised serious concerns about election security, with calls for federal investigations and tighter voting regulations.

IN FULL

A woman in Newburgh, Maine, was stunned to discover 250 unused state election ballots inside an Amazon package she had ordered, which was supposed to contain coffee, rice, and paper plates. Speaking anonymously, the woman said the package appeared to have been opened and resealed before it arrived at her home.

After finding the ballots, she contacted local authorities, who helped transfer them to the Newburgh town clerk’s office. Maine Secretary of State Shenna Bellows (D) confirmed that an investigation has been launched into how the ballots ended up outside the official chain of custody. “Safe and secure elections are my top priority. As soon as we became aware of allegations of ballots being received outside of the appropriate chain of custody, I immediately initiated an investigation through my secretary of state’s law enforcement division,” Bellows said in a statement.

The incident has triggered calls for broader investigations. Maine House Republican Leader Billy Bob Faulkingham is urging U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi and Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Director Kash Patel to open a federal probe. “The discovery of hundreds of authentic state ballots in a private Amazon delivery is beyond alarming. When ballots appear in household shipments of rice and toys, trust is shattered. Mainers deserve answers, accountability, and immediate action,” Faulkingham said.

Notably, Bellows attempted to unilaterally ban Donald J. Trump from appearing on Maine’s presidential primary ballots in 2023, alleging he had violated the Constitution’s insurrection clause. This suggests to some conservatives that she is a partisan actor who cannot be relied upon to uphold election integrity.

The campaign group Voter ID for ME reacted strongly to the scandal on social media, writing, “HUNDREDS of ballots are now turning up in Amazon packages?? This isn’t satire, fear mongering or political hyperbole. It’s reality. And it’s very likely not a one‑off, either. This is HUGE and means our elections are even MORE unsafe than we thought.”

The incident adds to a growing list of ballot-related concerns across the country. In Rhode Island, a Democrat lawmaker was recently accused of distributing misleading “sample ballots” that omitted opposing party candidates. In Pennsylvania, thousands of overseas military ballots have been challenged due to discrepancies. A 2025 FBI report also concluded that China attempted to exploit mail-in ballots to influence the 2020 election.

This has all fueled efforts to restrict mail-in voting, including a campaign by President Donald J. Trump calling for a ban on mail-in ballots and electronic voting machines.

Newsom Vows to Slash Funding of Universities That Sign Trump ‘Compact for Academic Excellence.’

PULSE POINTS

WHAT HAPPENED: California Governor Gavin Newsom (D) threatened to cut state funding to universities that sign President Donald J. Trump’s “Compact for Academic Excellence in Higher Education.”

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: Gov. Newsom, President Trump, White House Deputy Press Secretary Abigail Jackson, and California universities.

📍WHEN & WHERE: The threat was posted online by Newsom amidst ongoing discussions about the compact and its implementation at universities, including the University of Southern California.

💬KEY QUOTE: “By opposing the compact, Newsom is opposing efforts to cap wild tuition hikes and to protect free speech,” said White House Deputy Press Secretary Abigail Jackson.

🎯IMPACT: The compact seeks to ensure academic freedom, protect free speech, and address anti-Semitism, but Newsom’s opposition could limit its adoption in California.

IN FULL

California Governor Gavin Newsom (D) announced he intends to withhold public funding from any universities in the state that sign President Donald J. Trump’s “Compact for Academic Excellence in Higher Education.” While the Trump White House emphasized that the compact is aimed at bolstering academic freedom and safeguarding conservative voices, Newsom alleges that the agreement is meant to impose “radical conservative ideological restrictions” on higher education institutions.

“If any California university signs this radical agreement, they’ll lose billions in state funding—including Cal Grants—instantly. California will not bankroll schools that sell out their students, professors, researchers, and surrender academic freedom,” Newsom wrote in a post on X (formerly Twitter), adding: “California universities that bend to the will of Donald Trump and sign this insane ‘compact’ will lose billions in state funding—IMMEDIATELY. California will not bankroll schools that sign away academic freedom.”

The compact has reportedly been presented to the University of Southern California (USC)—along with at least eight other institutions—and lays out 10 provisions the school must adopt to receive a boost in federal funding. Among requirements are equality in admissions without racial or gender preferences, ensuring free speech and diverse viewpoints, and protecting women’s sports and locker rooms by recognizing biological sex distinctions.

Other provisions address financial responsibility, avoiding foreign entanglements, and institutional neutrality on political and social issues. The compact also outlines enforcement mechanisms, including oversight by an external monitor reporting to the Department of Justice (DOJ).

Newsom did not specify which provisions he found objectionable, referring to them only as “insane.” White House Deputy Press Secretary Abigail Jackson responded to the governor’s threat, stating that Newsom should “worry about the disaster he’s created in his own state,” citing policies that allow transgender athletes in girls’ sports.

Jackson added, “By opposing the compact, Newsom is opposing efforts to cap wild tuition hikes and to protect free speech.”

Dem Attorney General Candidate Fantasizes About Political Murder.

PULSE POINTS

WHAT HAPPENED: Disturbing text messages sent by the Democratic Party’s nominee for Virginia Attorney General, Jay Jones, have surfaced, raising grave questions about his temperament and judgment.

👤WHO WAS INVOLVED: Jay Jones, Virginia Delegate Carrie Coyne, Virginia House Speaker Todd Gilbert, and Virginia Attorney General Jason Miyares.

📍WHEN & WHERE: The politically violent messages were sent on August 8, 2022, and resurfaced on Friday, October 3, 2025.

💬KEY QUOTE: “I’ve told you this before. Only when people feel pain personally do they move on policy.” — Jay Jones

🎯IMPACT: The messages reveal a brutal and violent side to Jones, likely turning off voters in a close race for Attorney General.

IN FULL

Disturbing text messages sent by the Democratic Party’s nominee for Virginia Attorney General, Jay Jones, have surfaced, raising grave questions about his temperament and judgment. The messages, sent on August 8, 2022, by Jones to Republican House Delegate Carrie Coyne, reveal a more violent and cruelly flipant side to Jones, who is challenging incumbent Attorney General Jason Miyares (R).

Jones offers an unsolicited rant in the messages, trashing the centrist political legacy of long-time state lawmaker Joe Johnson Jr., who had recently passed away. Additionally, he rages about the “glowing” praise heaped on Johnson by Virginia House Speaker Todd Gilbert, openly wondering what “that POS would say about me if I died.”

As the text messages continued, Jones’s language became more violent. In one, he wrote, “If those guys die before me, I will go to their funerals to piss on their graves” to “send them out awash in something.” In other messages, Jones challenges Coyne to a game of hypothetical murder, asking which two of three people she would opt to kill, and offering his own choice without solicitation.

“Three people, two bullets. Gilbert, hitler, and pol pot. Gilbert gets two bullets to the head.  Spoiler: put Gilbert in the crew with the two worst people you know and he receives both bullets every time,” he wrote, prompting Coyne to reply: “Jay. Please stop.”

“It really bothers me when you talk about hurting people or wishing death on them. It isn’t ok. No matter who they are,” Coyne added, seemingly suggesting this wasn’t the first time Jones violently fantasized about physically harming others. However, Jones defended his violent thoughts, writing to Coyne: “I’ve told you this before. Only when people feel pain personally do they move on policy.”

Speaking with the media this week, Coyne said she sent the violent texts to Speaker Gilert at the time. “On August 8, 2022, I had a text conversation with Jay Jones, what he said was not just disturbing but disqualifying for anyone who wants to seek public office,” Coyne said in a statement, adding: “Jay Jones wished violence on the children of a colleague and joked about shooting Todd Gilbert. It’s disgusting and unbecoming of any public official.”

Responding to the revelations, which could damage his thus far competitive bid for Virginia Attorney General, Jones said in a statement, “Like all people, I’ve sent text messages that I regret and I believe that violent rhetoric has no place in our politics.”

He then tried to blame the leaked messages on his opponent and President Donald J. Trump.
