House Democrats Are Begging Pam Bondi Not to Cut DOJ ‘Race Relations’ Office.

PULSE POINTS:

What Happened: House Democrats are urging Attorney General Pam Bondi to preserve the Community Relations Service, a civil rights-era office under threat of closure. The program, ostensibly intended to resolve ethnic tensions, was deployed twice in Minneapolis during the George Floyd riots with little effect.

👥 Who’s Involved: Over two dozen House Democrats, including Rep. Bobby Scott (D-VA), have reached out to Bondi and the Justice Department (DOJ).

📍 Where & When: The letter was sent on Wednesday, May 7, 2024, with concerns stemming from a Justice Department memo reviewed last month.

💬 Key Quote: “We strongly urge you to abandon any plans of dissolving the work of the Community Relations Service,” wrote the House Democrats.

⚠️ Impact: Supporters contend that closing the office could increase the risk of racial unrest and legal challenges, while detractors contend it can exacerbate racial grievances.

IN FULL:

House Democrats are formally appealing to Attorney General Pam Bondi, urging her to maintain the Community Relations Service, a non-investigative and nonprosecutorial office established under the Department of Justice (DOJ) during the civil rights era. This office, often termed the “peacemakers program,” faces potential closure according to a DOJ memo issued last month.

Created under the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Community Relations Service ostensibly aims to mediate and resolve racial and ethnic tensions, conflicts, and civil disturbances, fostering racial harmony and stability. Notably, the office was twice deployed to Minneapolis during the George Floyd riots but appears to have had little impact.

“We are aware that during the previous Trump Administration there was a similar effort to abandon the valuable work of the Community Relations Service by recommending its elimination in budget proposals and reducing staffing,” the letter, spearheaded by Represenative Bobby Scott (D-VA), reads, adding: “We strongly urge you to abandon any plans of dissolving the work of the Community Relations Service.”

While the Community Relations Service, expanded under the 2008 Emmett Till Unsolved Civil Rights Crime Act, does not possess law enforcement authority—instead offering confidential and free services to communities—the program received a budget of $24 million in the 2024 fiscal year. Notably, the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) has recommended the elimination of similar programs at other federal agencies to cut government waste.

Another Poll Has Le Pen as the Favorite in French Presidential Race.

National Rally party leader Marine Le Pen has topped another poll for next year’s French presidential election, with establishment-backed candidates trailing.

PULSE POINTS
❓ WHAT HAPPENED: National Rally (RN) party leader Marine Le Pen is the favourite to win the next French presidential election, according to a new poll.
📺 DETAIL: According to a new poll by Toluna Harris Interactive, a digital market research agency, Le Pen is predicted to secure between 33 percent and 36 percent in the first round, putting her ahead of all her rivals. Significantly, the far-left Jean-Luc Mélenchon was predicted to reach the second round in three out of five scenarios, and to tie for second place with Édouard Philippe, an establishment “centrist” and former prime minister, in another first-round scenario. The poll was conducted between September 8 and September 10 and was reported on Monday. This follows another poll conducted by Toluna Harris published last month, which showed Le Pen beating Mélenchon (68 percent versus 32 percent), Philippe (55 percent versus 45 percent) and Gabriel Attal, another centrist former Prime Minister (57 percent versus 43 percent) in the second round. The poll also projected Le Pen winning 35 percent of the vote in the first round, well ahead of Mélenchon on 16 percent, Philippe on 14 percent, and Attal on eight percent.
🎯 IMPACT: These figures demonstrate that Le Pen is the clear favourite to win the French presidential election in 2027. If elected, it would be the first time in French history that the National Rally has won a presidential election. Even if polling suggests that he will lose to Le Pen, the fact that the far-left Mélenchon is predicted to reach the second round of voting in three out of five scenarios also shows that support for establishment candidates has waned significantly, while populist candidates on both the right and the left are gaining traction.
📺 FLASHBACK: Earlier this month, a poll conducted by Elabe put Le Pen on track to defeat Philippe (52.5 percent vs 47.5 percent) and Attal (57 percent vs 43 percent). The poll also showed Le Pen beating Mélenchon in the second round (69.5 percent vs 30.5 percent). The Institute for French Public Opinion (IFOP) also released a poll earlier this year which showed Le Pen ahead of all her major opponents, beating Attal (54 percent vs 46 percent), Philippe (55 percent vs 45 percent), and Mélenchon (70 percent vs 30 percent) in the second round. The poll also projected that Le Pen will secure 36 percent of the vote in the first round.

Charlie Kirk Statue Restored at TPUSA HQ Following Vandalism.

A statue of Charlie Kirk, the assassinated founder of Turning Point USA, has been switfly restored after it was vandalized just days after its unveiling.

PULSE POINTS
❓ WHAT HAPPENED: A statue of Charlie Kirk, unveiled at Turning Point USA (TPUSA) headquarters on the one-year anniversary of his assassination, was vandalized with red paint over the weekend to resemble his wounds after he was shot. The team at TPUSA quickly restored the statue, reaffirming their commitment to honoring Kirk’s legacy.
📍 WHEN & WHERE: The vandalism occurred at TPUSA headquarters shortly after the statue’s unveiling on the one-year anniversary of Kirk’s murder, which took place on September 10, 2025, at Utah Valley University.
💬 KEY QUOTE: “They thought a bullet would silence my husband’s voice but it only made it louder. They think spray paint can obscure his legacy, but it will only spread it further. Every attempt to tear down what Charlie built makes us root deeper and work even harder.” – Erika Kirk, widow of Charlie Kirk
💬 SECONDARY QUOTE: “The incident happened in the middle of the night because evil never sleeps. Beyond spray painting on the neck and face, they made the intentional decision to cross out the name of Jesus on a nearby sign.” – TPUSA statement
🎯 IMPACT: The vandalism highlights the ongoing extremist hostility toward Kirk’s legacy, as leftist activists continue to smear him and his work while conservatives rally to preserve his mission and memory.
📰 DETAIL: The statue, created by artist Quintin McCann, was unveiled alongside another statue in New York City’s Times Square, which also drew protests from leftist activists. Meanwhile, the suspected assassin, Tyler Robinson, is set to face trial for Kirk’s murder, with a Utah judge ruling in September that there is sufficient evidence to proceed. If convicted, Robinson could face the death penalty.
📺 FLASHBACK: Charlie Kirk’s death sparked widespread mourning among conservatives and celebrations in left-wing circles, reflecting the radicalization of many leftists.

Top German Politician Floats Banning Populist AfD After Its Election Win.

The political establishment of Germany is considering a ban on the populist Alternative for Germany (AfD) party after a crushing defeat for Chancellor Friedrich Merz’s establishment Christian Democratic Union party in a recent state election.

PULSE POINTS
❓ WHAT HAPPENED: A top German politician has suggested banning the Alternative for Germany (AfD) party after its recent victory in the Saxony-Anhalt state election.
📺 DETAIL: On Sunday, the anti-mass migration populist AfD party won its first-ever state election. The party secured approximately 44 percent of the vote while support for Chancellor (Prime Minister) Merz’s Christian Democratic Union (CDU) party, formerly led by Angela Merkel, dropped to just 17 percent, coming in a distant second place. Following the announcement of the result, senior CDU politician Hendrik Wüst proposed a ban on the AfD. The North Rhine-Westphalia Premier, roughly equivalent to a U.S. state governor, said that federal and state officials, as well as constitutional experts and members of the country’s intelligence services, should work together to ban the insurgent party. Wüst justified a potential ban as necessary to protect Germany’s constitution. This proposal comes after European Union (EU) officials proposed withdrawing funds from Saxony-Anhalt in response to the election result.
🎯 IMPACT: A potential ban would be very controversial and widely regarded as highly undemocratic, especially by AfD supporters. The willingness to openly float a ban on a major political party underscores the fragility of Germany’s establishment. This is also likely to push the AfD to pursue the abolition of the Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution (BfV), Germany’s increasingly weaponized domestic intelligence agency. “In no other Western democracy are political parties monitored by intelligence agencies… That creates an obvious conflict of interest,” said Hans Georg Maaßen, former BfV president.
💬 KEY QUOTE: Not with the politically predetermined goal that you now have to examine a ban, but to examine this party and the possible legal consequences. That could be a ban, but it could also be something else.” – Hendrik Wüst as reported in Die Welt, a German newspaper.
📺 FLASHBACK: President Donald J. Trump congratulated the AfD on their recent win. “Wow! The Populist Party in Germany just had a really big night… THEY ARE ON THE RISE, and not going to take it anymore! MGGA!!!” posted the President on Truth Social. In contrast, the German political establishment was far more downbeat. “It is the most severe election defeat the CDU has suffered in years, indeed in decades,” said Chancellor Merz.

Nigel Farage’s Reform Party Receives Largest Donation in British Political History.

British crypto billionaire Ben Delo has donated over £30 million to Nigel Farage’s Reform UK in the single largest donation to a British political party ever.

PULSE POINTS
❓ WHAT HAPPENED: Nigel Farage’s Reform UK has received the largest ever donation to a British political party.
📺 DETAIL: On Friday, it was reported that Ben Delo, a British cryptocurrency entrepreneur, donated £36 million (~$48.7 million) to Nigel Farage’s Reform UK party. The amount donated by Delo is worth £1 million ($1.3 million) per month to Reform UK until the next general election, which is scheduled for August 2029. “Labour and the Conservatives have occupied the commanding heights of British politics for a combined total of more than 300 years. Reform UK has been around for less than eight. One of the reasons why the old parties have lasted so long is that they have made it very expensive to challenge them,” wrote Delo in an op-ed in The Telegraph explaining the donation. The amount donated by Delo breaks the previous record of £10 million (~$13.5 million), which was left to Olukemi “Kemi” Badenoch’s nominally Conservative Party as a bequest. Meanwhile, the ruling Labour Party receives millions every year from the country’s trade unions. “I am honoured and humbled that Ben Delo has shown such confidence in Reform. Ben knows that we are the only party that can turn the country around and reverse Britain’s rapid decline,” said Farage in response to the donation.
💬 KEY QUOTE: “I believe it is the duty of people with broad shoulders and deep pockets to step up and help Reform to win and govern, rather than allow the British people to be trapped in the political monoculture that is driving this country off a cliff. Labour and the Conservatives have built vast infrastructures using hundreds of millions of pounds. They have entrenched advantages that Reform cannot hope to match.” – Ben Delo.
🎯 IMPACT: This follows a cap imposed by the Labour-controlled government on party donations worth over £100,000 (~$135,000) from foreign-based Britons. The cap is widely viewed as an attempt by the British government to cut off Reform’s financial support, as Delo was based in Hong Kong until recently and Harborne is currently based in Thailand. The cap followed a collapse in donations to Labour and the Conservatives, Britain’s two main establishment parties. In early August, figures showed that the Labour Party secured £6.4m (~$8.6m) in donations over the course of 2025, while the Conservatives received £15.2m (~$20.5m) over the same period, an 84 percent drop and a 47 percent drop, respectively. As a result of this donation, Reform has raised five times as much as the Conservatives and roughly six times as much as Labour. Specifically, during the first half of 2026, Reform raised £14.9 million (~$20.1 million), whereas the Conservatives raised £10.2 million (~$13.7 million) and Labour raised £7.7 million (~$10.4 million).

Three Charged for Using Homeless to Forge Voter Signatures in LA.

A federal indictment charges James Brass and two associates with identity fraud in a scheme involving Skid Row homeless and stolen voter identities.

PULSE POINTS
❓ WHAT HAPPENED: Three people have been federally charged in an alleged scheme to pay homeless people on Los Angeles’ Skid Row to forge the signatures of registered voters on ballot petitions, according to federal prosecutors. James Brass, 47, was charged alongside Courtney Price, 49, and Jateisha Herron, 33, after prosecutors alleged the group used stolen voter identities to qualify initiatives for California ballots.
📺 DETAIL: All three defendants face a conspiracy charge involving identity fraud in furtherance of a state felony, while Brass and Price face additional identity fraud charges. First Assistant U.S. Attorney Bill Essayli vowed that federal authorities would prosecute those involved in corrupting elections. The indictment follows a March undercover investigation by independent journalist James O’Keefe, whose footage appeared to show petition circulators paying homeless people to forge the signatures of real voters on Skid Row. O’Keefe’s investigation showed circulators providing names and addresses of registered voters and directing homeless people on what information to write, with the alleged forgeries potentially occurring thousands of times. The case also follows the May guilty plea agreement of California woman Brenda Lee Brown Armstrong, who admitted to paying homeless people on Skid Row to register to vote as part of a paid signature-gathering operation.
💬 KEY QUOTE: “The charged conduct undermines the confidence voters have in our election systems. We will vigorously investigate and charge anyone involved in corrupting our elections.” – Bill Essayli
🎯 IMPACT: The case will fuel further concerns about the integrity of California’s ballot-initiative process, particularly if prosecutors establish that real voters’ identities were systematically misused to manufacture petition signatures. It also gives election integrity advocates fresh evidence to argue that weak safeguards in signature-gathering and voter-registration systems can be exploited, increasing pressure for stronger verification requirements.

State AG Sues Netflix for Tracking, Selling Children’s Data.

Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier has filed a lawsuit accusing Netflix of misleading consumers and exploiting children’s data for advertising purposes.

PULSE POINTS
❓ WHAT HAPPENED: Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier has sued Netflix, accusing the streaming giant of tracking children’s data and using the information to support its advertising business. The lawsuit alleges Netflix misled consumers by presenting itself as an ad-free service and claiming it would limit the collection and integration of user information. According to the complaint, Netflix had spent years accumulating consumer data and developing behavioral-surveillance systems that were eventually used after the company launched its advertising business in November 2022.
📺 DETAIL: Uthmeier said parents, rather than major technology companies, should control how their children’s privacy is protected. Netflix rejected the allegations, saying it takes member privacy seriously, complies with applicable data-protection laws, and maintains safeguards for children using the platform.
💬 KEY QUOTE: “This lawsuit is about parents, because it’s parents who should oversee the privacy of their kids, not a big tech company that’s profiting despite public safety.” – Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier
🎯 IMPACT: If successful, the lawsuit could force Netflix to alter its advertising model. It also highlights growing concerns over the exploitation of children’s data by major tech platforms. It comes amid broader scrutiny of technology companies over the safety and privacy of minors, including a case brought against Roblox alleging that its platform exposed children to predators while emphasizing its commitment to protecting young users. Roblox, which reported 151 million daily active users in its third quarter and nearly 400 million monthly users, has said roughly 40 percent of its users are under 13.

Previously Deported Illegal Charged Over Fatal DUI Crash.

A previously deported illegal immigrant is accused of causing a fatal crash in Ohio, reigniting concerns over border security and illegal reentry into the U.S.

PULSE POINTS
❓ WHAT HAPPENED: A previously deported Mexican allegedly drove under the influence before losing control of his SUV and crashing into an oncoming vehicle, killing a newly engaged 23-year-old Ohio teacher, authorities said. Alvaro Uribe-Gonzalez, 33, faces aggravated vehicular homicide, DUI, and driving without a valid license in connection with the crash on U.S. Route 33 in Fairfield County that killed Cameron Lyon and seriously injured Lyon’s fiancée, Abrielle Kerns.
📺 DETAIL: According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, Uribe-Gonzalez’s GMC Terrain left the roadway, and he allegedly overcorrected before crossing into westbound traffic and overturning into Lyon’s Chevrolet Trax, which then caught fire. Lyon was treated at the scene but died shortly afterward, while Uribe-Gonzalez suffered minor injuries. Federal officials said Uribe-Gonzalez first illegally entered the U.S. through Texas in January 2020, was ordered removed by an immigration judge, and deported to Mexico in April of that year before allegedly reentering the country illegally at an unknown date and location. U.S Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) subsequently lodged a detainer with the Fairfield County Jail, requesting custody of Uribe-Gonzalez following his criminal proceedings. Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin said Lyon’s death was preventable and that the suspect “never should have been in our country.”
🎯 IMPACT: The case is likely to intensify debate over illegal reentry and immigration enforcement, particularly because the suspect had previously been deported.

RFK Jr. Blasts Democrats for Turning Federal Government Into a ‘Collaborator in Child Trafficking.’

Robert F. Kennedy Jr. accused the Biden government of mishandling migrant children, linking it to increased risks of trafficking, during a speech at the GOP convention.

PULSE POINTS
❓ WHAT HAPPENED: Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. accused the former Biden regime of turning the federal government into a massive child-trafficking operation during a speech Thursday at the Republican midterm convention in Dallas. Kennedy claimed that HHS had become a “collaborator in child trafficking for sex and for slavery” under Biden, saying the Trump administration had ended the practice.
📺 DETAIL: His remarks centered on federal data concerning roughly 300,000 unaccompanied migrant children who either did not appear for scheduled immigration court hearings or did not receive notices to appear. A 2024 Department of Homeland Security inspector general report found that more than 32,000 children failed to appear for immigration court hearings between fiscal years 2019 and 2023, while about 291,000 had not been issued notices to appear. The report warned that officials had no assurance the children were safe from trafficking, exploitation, or forced labor. Kennedy said the Trump administration is “very aggressively” searching for the children, framing the issue as part of its broader immigration agenda ahead of the 2026 midterm elections.
💬 KEY QUOTE: “During the Biden administration, HHS became a collaborator in child trafficking for sex and for slavery, and we have ended that.” – Robert F. Kennedy Jr.
🎯 IMPACT: Kennedy’s remarks reinforce the Trump administration’s broader argument that weaknesses in the Biden-era immigration system left children exposed to trafficking, exploitation, and other dangers, making child safety a central justification for tighter immigration enforcement.

Core Inflation Surges, Increasing Likelihood of Fed Rate Hike.

Inflation ticked up in August, largely due to an increase in the price of gasoline, raising concerns about potential Federal Reserve action on interest rates.

PULSE POINTS
❓ WHAT HAPPENED: Consumer prices rose in August compared to July, according to new data from the Department of Labor.
📺 DETAIL: According to the new data released on Friday, consumer prices rose 0.4 percent in August, largely due to a 3.9 percent increase in gasoline prices, which surged 27.4 percent over the year. Meanwhile, grocery prices increased 2.2 percent, and electricity prices decreased 0.2 percent in August. Over the past year, the Consumer Price Index (CPI) increased by 3.4 percent, matching the annual rise reported in July. Core inflation, which excludes the price of food and energy, rose 0.3 percent over the month and 2.4 percent over the year. Core prices increased 2.4 percent over the past year, marking a slight slowdown from the previously recorded 2.5 percent annual increase. Economists forecast that the CPI would increase by 0.4 percent from the prior month and 3.4 percent from a year ago. Core prices were also expected to rise 0.2 percent for the month and 2.4 percent for the past year.
🎯 IMPACT: The higher-than-expected increase in core prices is likely to influence the Federal Reserve’s upcoming decision on interest rates. Rising energy costs and persistent inflation in key categories may pose challenges for policymakers aiming to balance economic growth and price stability. This coincides with a drop in consumer confidence among Americans. Last month, it was reported that confidence fell to 89.4 from 90.2 in July, marking its lowest level in seven months. While the new data show that an increase in gasoline prices has played an outsized role in overall price increases, core inflation is still rising, suggesting affordability concerns independent of the fallout from the ongoing Iran war and uncertainty surrounding the Strait of Hormuz. These statistics reflect a broader problem of consumer sentiment, which declined to a record low of 49.8 in April, according to the University of Michigan’s Consumer Sentiment Index.

A quarter century later, our promise to the victims and their families remains the same: we will never forget.” – Scott Bessent, Secretary of the Treasury.
🎯 IMPACT: This is not the first time that the U.S. Mint has issued a commemorative item for 9/11. For the 10th anniversary in 2011, the U.S. Mint released a one-ounce silver September 11 National Medal, which featured Lady Liberty holding a “Lamp of Remembrance” and the inscription “ALWAYS REMEMBER.” The 25th anniversary coin will serve as a reminder of the attacks for years to come. The announcement of the coin coincides with the 25th anniversary 9/11 memorial service.
