Former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie may drop out of the GOP presidential nomination race on Wednesday, just five days before the Iowa caucuses, according to reporter Mark Halperin. More information is expected at 5pm EST.
Halperin also said two sources told him Christie will not endorse another candidate at this time.
Christie entered the race in June of last year and ran as an avowedly anti-Trump candidate. He consistently performed poorly in national polls, trailing behind opponents Florida Governor Ron DeSantis and Nikki Haley, and far behind frontrunner Donald Trump.
